2011 KAHN CONFERENCE
02/04/2011-The Kansas Association of Hostage Negotiators is proud to announce that the 2011 KAHN Crisis Negotiators Training Conference will be held in Olathe, Kansas on April 18 to April 22nd. The Conference will be held at the Olathe Fire Department Administration Building in Olathe.
The cost of the conference is $235.00 for KAHN Members, and $275.00 for Non-KAHN Members. A block of rooms have been reserved at a special NEW room rate of $77.00/night at the Comfort Suites at Olathe Station. Hurry, that rate is guaranteed until March 1st, 2011. Make sure to tell them that you are attending the Kansas Association of Hostage Negotiators or KAHN training to be eligible for the special rate. Your registration now includes the KAHN 10th anniversary banquet and recognition on Wednesday April 20th, 2011. Non-conference guests can attend for an additional $25.00/person. Training Opportunities
Since 2001, The Kansas Association of Hostage Negotiators has sponsored or administered training events across Kansas. KAHN hosts an annual training conference every two years normally during the first week of April.
KAHN has also co-sponsored with the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC), a three day course designed for new or beginner hostage/crisis negotiators. If you or your agency is interested in participating or hosting a training class, please contact Bob Ware at training@ksnegotiator.com
Training Courses
Active Listening-This class specializes in basic communication skills. This is an excellent class that has been provided to a large variety of audiences throughout Kansas and the United States. KAHN is proud that several of our instructors have traveled across the United States providing training and instruction to fellow crisis negotiators.
Crisis Negotiations for First Responders-This class is designed to provide basic training for law enforcement and first responders. This class covers the principles and problems surrounding a hostage/barricaded situation.
Suicide Intervention-This class will cover the clues of potential suicides, suicide by cop, suicide potential, suicide by cop, and intervention.
Correction Negotiations-This class covers the basics of crisis/hostage negotiations in a correctional institution.
Legal Issues-This course covers legal topics associated with crisis/hostage negotiations.
