

KAHN (Pronounced “can”) was formed in 2000 when representatives of the Kansas Highway Patrol, Kansas Bureau of Investigation, Kansas City P.D., Olathe P.D., Topeka P.D., Wichita P.D., and Overland Park P.D. came together to address a need for a state association for crisis/hostage negotiators. KAHN is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of crisis negotiations within the field of law enforcement. The association strives to establish a standard for Kansas negotiators to share resources and intelligence with the goal of preserving life through non-violent means.
As a member of KAHN you will have access to training opportunities, technical support, post incident reports, and other resources.
Persons of good character and community standing, who are sworn Law Enforcement of full time employees designated as an agency member to a crisis team. An associate member can be any person who demonstrates a bonafide interest in the furtherance of the profession.
Membership cost is $15.00 per year.

Since 2000, KAHN has sponsored or administrated training events across Kansas. KAHN hosts an annual training conference every two years during the first week of April. This year our annual conference will be April 6th through 10th in Olathe, Kansas. KAHN has also co-sponsored with KLETC (Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center), a three day course designed for new or beginner hostage negotiators. Last year, KAHN hosted a three day basic negotiator course in Dodge City, Kansas. If you are interested in participating or hosting a training class, please contact training@ksnegotiator.com
KAHN is compromised of a board director’s with each position serving a two year term. Elections are held once a year, and each position is staggered for an election term, ie. President election is held every even year, Vice President every odd year.
